Artificial Intelligence & Crawler Policy
This publication strictly prohibits the unauthorized scraping, harvesting, or ingestion of our essays, notes, and research for training artificial intelligence models or generative AI systems without prior explicit written license.
This policy sets forth the terms and conditions under which automated systems, machine learning models, web scrapers, and artificial intelligence agents may interact with Notes By Xavier (“the Publication”), published and maintained by Xavier Lawrence on the Notesby sovereign publishing engine.
1. Comprehensive Reservation of Rights (EU DSM & International Law)
Pursuant to Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 of the European Parliament and of the Council on Copyright and Related Rights in the Digital Single Market, and all equivalent statutory and common law rights globally, the author and publisher expressly reserve all rights regarding the reproduction, extraction, and harvesting of this site’s contents for the purposes of Text and Data Mining (TDM), machine learning, or artificial intelligence model training.
This reservation applies universally to all text, essays, field notes, op-eds, code samples, photographic works, diagrams, and metadata hosted across this domain and its associated media buckets.
2. Prohibition on Generative AI & Foundation Model Ingestion
No entity may crawl, scrape, ingest, tokenize, or cache any content from this publication to develop, train, fine-tune, validate, evaluate, or enhance any artificial intelligence system, large language model (LLM), neural network, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) store, or commercial dataset without an explicit, negotiated written licensing agreement signed by Xavier Lawrence.
This restriction explicitly encompasses both commercial and non-commercial crawlers, including but not limited to bots identified as:
GPTBot,ChatGPT-User, andOAI-SearchBot(OpenAI)ClaudeBotandAnthropic-AI(Anthropic)PerplexityBot(Perplexity AI)CCBot(Common Crawl)Bytespider(ByteDance)Google-Extended(Google AI / Gemini)cohere-aiand other foundation model web scrapers
3. Search Engine Discovery vs. Model Harvesting
We draw a fundamental architectural distinction between traditional search engines that index web pages to direct human readers to original source URLs, versus generative AI systems that consume creative work to synthesize surrogate answers without referral or economic reciprocity.
Standard search engines (such as Googlebot and Bingbot) are permitted to index public pages exclusively for the purpose of serving direct links and snippets in traditional search engine results pages. Any secondary ingestion of indexed content into generative AI summarization layers or training pipelines is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.
4. Academic Research & Commercial Licensing
Legitimate academic institutions, non-profit digital preservation libraries, and research organizations seeking to cite or study our publications for peer-reviewed research may request written permission.
For commercial licensing, syndication, or enterprise research requests, please contact Xavier Lawrence at notesby.support@clstre.com.
5. Automated Defense & Server Protection
To protect sovereign server resources and reader availability, this publication employs active edge-level rate limiting, automated bot challenges, and IP filtering. Excessive or unauthorized crawling activity will be blocked at the infrastructure boundary.
