About

Welcome to Notes By Xavier, a personal space for my essays, working notes, and considered perspectives.

Some Context

Writing helps clarify what I think and why. Right now, the system I spend the most time trying to dismantle and make sense of is technology.

Funny enough, I wasn't always a developer, or exited about tech. I spent most of my teens and twenties completely convinced music was what I was supposed to do. I loved it, but I found myself having a constant internal struggle. Music felt too subjective, and because it came so naturally to me, I struggled to believe it was a true talent. I was just talking about my life, I felt anybody could do that.

Looking back, I stayed in that world because of what I now would call, external momentum. The people around me kept telling me to keep pushing. But I was optimizing for the wrong thing or metric, becoming a "star."

Really and truly, it is not my personality to be the center of attention. I genuinely hate promoting myself. Over time, my focus shifted completely away from the illusion of stardom and toward creating a tangible, systemic impact.

That is where technology completely rewrote my trajectory.

Web and software development gave me a playground where I could see problems that were objective, complex, and more challenging to solve. It offered a lot more alignment personality wise. It was a way to solve operational bottlenecks and build tools that shape business, work, and social connections.

And best of all, I get to do all of this working quietly from behind the scenes.
